Paint
We started out making our own "Chalk" paint. Latex paint with Plaster of Paris mixed in. I loved it, everything took 1 coat, but I hated mixing the paint, water & pop. So we found Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (ASCP) which was wonderful, low smell, 1 coat easy to use BUT was $39 a quart. Way too much for the amount we paint.
Few months back we switched to American Paint Company (APC), but still used ASCP when needed. APC has a low smell, definitely took 2 or more coats and was thick so you had to add water, which didn't always work out. I love it but wasn't digging the 2 or more coats I had to put on. Love the wax though!! Not as expensive $34 a quart.
We are in the process of trying out new "Chalk" paints on the market. We may of found one and plan on carrying it in our shop for other DIYers out there. Plus doing classes on how to paint it your self :) We will announce the new paint in a few weeks, once we made our decision. BUT will still use APC & ASCP when a customer request it for their custom piece.

American Paint Company is the BOMB!
I am just amazed with this new product and can't wait to try it out!!
Introducing Mica powders. Available in gold, silver, copper, pewter and black. APC Mica is a metallic powder designed to mix with our Wax and Top Coat, adding exceptional elegance and sparkle to your hand painted finish.
To mix powders, add directly into APC Wax or Top Coat as desired. The more you add the more sparkle you will get, however a great place to start would be a three to one ratio. Place three parts of Wax in a separate container then add one part Mica powder and mix thoroughly.

After you have your desired mica/wax mixture, apply wax directly onto your unfinished painted surface.
- Using a soft bristle wax brush, place a small amount of tinted wax onto brush.
- Press wax onto painted surface, making sure that it is applied evenly and that tinted wax gets into the crevices and details of your piece.
- Allow wax to dry then buff with a cloth or rag.

New sign up .... Kinda
I know it's hard to find our little warehouse/shop, so I made this sign to hang up on the fence out front. I still need a sign to post by the road .. Maybe a A framed chalkboard.

I love easy crafts, mostly cheap ones!!!
~Find a pallet in good condition (I went at night behind grocery stores shhh..)
~Sand it down with 100 grit sand paper on a hand sander or on a sanders block, make sure there is NO nails poking out ... OUCH!
~Start painting .....
When your paint is dry, sand over it again, giving it a old painted look! DONE
