Paint

We started out making our own "Chalk" paint. Latex paint with Plaster of Paris mixed in. I loved it, everything took 1 coat, but I hated mixing the paint, water & pop. So we found Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (ASCP) which was wonderful, low smell, 1 coat easy to use BUT was $39 a quart. Way too much for the amount we paint.
Few months back we switched to American Paint Company (APC), but still used ASCP when needed. APC has a low smell, definitely took 2 or more coats and was thick so you had to add water, which didn't always work out. I love it but wasn't digging the 2 or more coats I had to put on. Love the wax though!! Not as expensive $34 a quart.
We are in the process of trying out new "Chalk" paints on the market. We may of found one and plan on carrying it in our shop for other DIYers out there. Plus doing classes on how to paint it your self :) We will announce the new paint in a few weeks, once we made our decision. BUT will still use APC & ASCP when a customer request it for their custom piece.
